INDICTMENT FILED FOR ILLICIT TRAFFICKING IN NARCOTIC DRUGS
18.04.2012. 08:45The Accused is charged with conspiring with another person from Belgrade to send him heroin narcotic drug by bus and paying him to do so.
As alleged in the Indictment, the aforementioned person has submitted the parcel to a bus driver in Belgrade, whereas on 26 July 2007, around 02:30 AM, at a bus station in Prijedor, I.Č. tried to take over that parcel containing 4.0968 grams of heroin narcotic drug which was proclaimed a narcotic drug by relevant conventions and legal provisions and which transport is forbidden pursuant to the current provisions of the Law on Prevention and Suppression of Abuse of Narcotic Drugs (“Official Gazette of BiH”, No. 8/06), namely by Article 19 of that Law; he failed to do that because of the intervention of a Border Police officer at Rača Border Crossing.
The Accused I.Č. has attempted illicit transferring across the border of a substance which was proclaimed a narcotic drug by a relevant law, and is therefore charged with the commission of a criminal offense of Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs, as referred to in Article 195(1) of the CC BiH, in conjunction with Article 26 of the CC BiH.
The Indictment has been submitted for confirmation to the Court of BiH.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
