CUSTODY PROPOSED AGAINST EIGHT PERSONS DEPRIVED OF LIBERTY IN POLICE OPERATION CODENAMED ‘JUG’ /SOUTH/

22.12.2020. 15:35
Having questioned the suspects, the Prosecutor of the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina in charge of the case sent a proposal to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina seeking a 30- day custody measure to be ordered in regard to eight suspects.
  • CUSTODY PROPOSED AGAINST EIGHT PERSONS DEPRIVED OF LIBERTY IN POLICE OPERATION CODENAMED ‘JUG’ /SOUTH/

The measure of custody has been proposed in regard to the following suspects:

-   Refik Hasanović, born in 1970, from Sarajevo,

-   Mirza Hodžić, born in 1988, from Doboj,

-   Muhamed Mudrov, born in 1986, from Doboj,

-   Enes Kantić, born in 1982, from Tešanj,

-   Almir Ahmić, born in 1985, from Tešanj,

-   Alen Dugalić, born in 1989, from Tešanj,

-   Adnan Dizdarević, born in 1981, from Zenica, and

-   Nedim Bukvić, born in 1986, from Doboj.

The measure of custody has been proposed in relation to the aforementioned suspects for reasons as stipulated in Article 132, paragraph 1, items b) and c) of the Criminal Procedure Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, namely, due to the justified fear that these suspects, if at large, mightl destroy, conceal, alter or falsify evidence or clues important to the criminal proceedings, and that, if at large, they might repeat the criminal offence.

These suspects are under investigation in a case in which an operation codenamed ‘Jug’ /’South’/ was carried out in cooperation with the police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency - SIPA.

These activities are the result of several months of thorough investigation conducted by the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with SIPA, and the aforementioned persons are subject to investigation due to the criminal offence of Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs, referred to in Article 195, paragraph 2, in conjunction with paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The investigation has shown that, in 2020, the first suspect organized a group of people on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and other suspects joined that group as its members. The group in question was organized for the purpose of illicit international transfer and sale of ‘cannabis - skunk’ and ‘speed’ narcotic drugs, from the territory of Albania to the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina resumes its intensive work on this case.
