The regular meeting of the strategic forum of the highest officials of prosecutor’s offices and police authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina was held in the premises of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH. The host of the meeting was the Acting Chief Prosecutor of BiH, Gordana Tadić.

The meeting was a continuation of the successful cooperation between these institutions through the work of the Strategic Forum and was entirely devoted to discussion on the capacities of prosecutors’ offices and police to investigate and prosecute war crimes cases.

The Acting Chief Prosecutor - Gordana Tadić presented the capacities of the Prosecutor’s office of BiH for work on war crimes cases and the performance report on the work made so far.

During the meeting the parties discussed the obstacles and preconditions for efficient work on war crime cases with special emphasis on human resource capacities of police agencies, amendments to the National War Crimes Strategy, activities in connection with the future transfer of a number of cases to cantonal and district prosecutors’ offices, as well as other organizational matters in service of an expedited and better performance on this type of cases.

The following parties attended the meeting: Acting Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH - Gordana Tadić, as host of the meeting, along with officials of the Special Department for War Crimes within the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH; Chief Prosecutors of the Federation BiH, RS and Brčko District: Zdravko Knežević, Mahmut Švraka and Zekerija Mujkanović; Directors  of SIPA, entity police and  BD police: Perica Stanić, Darko Ćulum, Dragan Lukač and Goran Pisić, as well as representatives of the HJPC BiH.

High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina supported the organization of the meeting in the context of the activities carried out within the ”Strengthening the Capacities of the Prosecutors’ Offices within the Criminal Justice System” project which is implemented with the support of the Governments of Switzerland and Norway.

The meeting held in the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH was the seventh meeting of senior officials of prosecutor’s offices and police agencies from BiH at a strategic level. Such activities will continue in the future.
