In the last couple of days, Acting Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ms. Gordana Tadić, and the ICTY/MICT Chief Prosecutor, Mr. Serge Brammertz, spent more than five hours in the discussion with approximately forty representatives of war crimes victims’ population of all ethnicities, from all regions of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The representatives of the war crimes victims’ population had an opportunity to express their suggestions and observations on the issues of the prosecution of war crimes cases, the process of finding missing persons and on other issues deemed important for the war crimes victims.

The meeting was attended by more than ten Prosecutors from the Special Department for War Crimes working on the cases which refer to specific regions, who could provide first-hand answers to questions of interest to the representatives of victims.

Moreover, in order to achieve better, more expedient and more direct communication, a number of Prosecutors will be designated as contact persons for cooperation and communication with the representatives of victims’ associations, so that information could be exchanged as expediently as possible.

In view of different media allegations, it is important to emphasize that the ICTY/MICT Chief Prosecutor, Mr. Serge Brammertz, has assessed the cooperation with the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina as a very good one, and he offered support to the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina in further prosecution of war crimes cases.
