EXHUMATION OF THE REMAINS OF VICTIMS KILLED IN THE PAST WAR WAS CARRIED OUT IN PRIJEDOR MUNICIPALITY
13.06.2012. 15:10The exhumation carried out at the locality of Ljestve (Prijedor municipality) resulted with the uncovery of the remains of four bodies.
DNA samples shall be collected from the recovered bodies for the purpose of establishing the identity of the war crimes victims. The DNA analysis shall be by handled by the laboratory of the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP)
The recovered remains shall be transferred to the Identification center Šejkovača in Sanski Most where they are to remain until the forensic processing and identification is complete.
The exhumation process was supervised by an investigator of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, who acted in accordance with the instructions of the Prosecutor while coordinating the work of police, forensic experts and other authorized persons engaged in the process of exhumations.
The exhumation was attended by representatives of the BiH Institute for Missing Persons, representatives of the RS MoI, a doctor working in the field of forensic medicine and an investigator of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH
The Prosecutor's Office of BiH, along with other institutions involved in the process of tracing the missing persons in BiH, continues its activities in the process of exhumations and tracing the missing in all parts of BiH.
