INDICTMENT ISSUED AGAINST THREE PERSONS FOR THE CRIMINAL OFFENCE OF GENOCIDE

The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH issued an indictment against  Dragan Jevtić*, born in 1965 in Zvornik, a citizen of BiH and Serbia, Slavko Bogićević*, aka "Brko", born in 1955 in Zvornik, a citizen of BiH, and Damjan Lazarević*, born in 1953 in Zvornik, a citizen of BiH. They are charged with knowingly aiding and abetting the commission of the criminal offence of Genocide against Bosniak victims after the fall of the UN-protected area of ​​Srebrenica during the widespread and systematic attack by the RS Army and the RS MoI.

 

INDICTMENT ISSUED AGAINST THREE PERSONS FOR THE CRIMINAL OFFENCE OF GENOCIDE

They are accused of having participated, in mid-July 1995, while acting in their capacity as commanders of the Engineering Company within the Zvornik Brigade of the RS Army, in the preparation of locations for mass executions, as well as in securing machinery and soldiers for the burial of the bodies of the executed victims of the Srebrenica genocide, namely at least 860 victims at the Orahovac site, at least 815 victims at the Petkovci-Brana site, at least 844 victims at the Kozluk - gravel pit site, and at least 1,752 victims at the Pilica-Branjevo site.

 

They are also charged with having, during September and October 1995, while acting in coordination and agreement with the structures of the Zvornik Brigade and the RS Army Main Staff, organized and participated in the removal of the bodies of the killed from primary locations to at least 24 secondary graves in the wider Zvornik area, with the aim of concealing the crime committed and making it difficult to find the remains.

 

The accused are charged with the criminal offense of Genocide under Article 171 of the Criminal Code of BiH.
