The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH issued an indictment against Zoran Simanić* aka "Zajdo", born in 1972 in Loznica, a citizen of BiH and the Republic of Serbia, and Dragan Jović* aka "Mujo", born in 1959 in Zvornik, a citizen of BiH and the Republic of Serbia. The accused are charged with knowingly aiding and abetting in the perpetration of the criminal offence of Genocide against Bosniak victims after the fall of the UN-protected area of Srebrenica during a widespread and systematic attack by the RS Army and the RS MoI.
The indictment alleges that in July 1995, as members of the Zvornik Brigade of the RS Army, the accused participated in the capture and forcible imprisonment of more than 829 Bosniak men and boys in the gymnasium of a school in the Roćević settlement in the Zvornik municipality, their transport to the execution site, as well as that they participated in the shooting of the aforementioned prisoners by using firearms at the location of the gravel pit on the banks of the Drina River in the Kozluk settlement. Following the shooting the remains of the victims were moved to several secondary mass graves. The accused are charged with committing the criminal offense of Genocide under Article 171, paragraphs a) and b), of the Criminal Code of BiH, in conjunction with Article 180, paragraph 1, and in conjunction with Article 31 of the same Code.
