WEEKLY OVERVIEW OF MOST IMPORTANT ACTIVITIES FOR DECEMBER 8 - 12 2025

 An overview of the most important activities for the week from 8 December through to 12 December 2025. 


EXHUMATION CARRIED OUT IN THE AREA OF NOVI TRAVNIK

At the Gornje Pećine site in the Novi Travnik municipality, an exhumation was carried out, during which the mortal remains of one person were found and sent to the Prahulje cemetery in Travnik for further forensic processing and identification of the missing person through DNA analysis. The exhumation process was conducted pursuant to the order of the acting prosecutor and led by an investigator from the Special Department for War Crimes. The scene was attended by a forensic pathologist, members of the State Investigation and Protection Agency - SIPA and the Central Bosnia Canton Ministry of interior, a representative of the Institute for Missing Persons (INO) of BiH and the Federation BiH Civil Protection Administration. The mortal remains were found in an inaccessible location, and the engagement of the SIPA special unit was required to extract them.


INDICTMENT ISSUED FOR THE CRIMINAL OFFENSE OF SMUGGLING OF PERSONS

The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued an indictment against Muhamed Keć*, born in 1995 in Sarajevo, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He is charged with accepting five migrants of Afro-Asian origin in the Sarajevo municipality of Ilidža on August 13, 2024, with the intention of transporting them to the Republic of Croatia. He was discovered and prevented by members of the Gradiška Police Department, in the town of Orahova near the state border. The accused is charged with having committed the criminal offense of Smuggling of Persons under Article 189, paragraph 1 of the CC of BiH in conjunction with Article 26 of the same Code.


INDICTMENT ISSUED FOR THE CRIMINAL OFFENCE OF SMUGGLING OF PERSONS

The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH issued an indictment against Haris Spahić*, born in 1995 in Sarajevo, a citizen of BiH. He is charged with having, on 21 August last year, with the aim of obtaining unlawful material gain, accepted five migrants, citizens of Turkey, including three minors, in the territory of the Sarajevo municipality of Ilidža with the intention of transporting them to the territory of the Republic of Croatia. He was discovered and prevented by members of the BiH Border Police, at the location of Topala in the municipality of Posušje. The accused is charged with having committed the criminal offence of Smuggling of Persons under Article 189, paragraph 4, in conjunction with paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of BiH in conjunction with Article 26 of the same Code.


EXHUMATION CARRIED OUT AT THE KUREVO-KRČEVINE LOCATION IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF PRIJEDOR

An exhumation was carried out pursuant to the order of the acting prosecutor and led by investigators from the Special Department for War Crimes. The scene was attended by a forensic pathologist, representatives of the Institute for Missing Persons (IMO) of BiH, as well as police officers from the Prijedor Police Department who secured the location. Partial remains of one person were found and will be forwarded to the Šejkovača Police Station in Sanski Most for further forensic processing and identification of the missing person through DNA analysis.
