Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, Milanko Kajganić, as well as Prosecutors and professional staff of the Mutual Legal Assistance and Other Criminal Offences Section participated at the conference Criminalizing Genocide Denial: Law, Accountability and Prevention organized by the International Nuremberg Principles Academy in cooperation with the Office of the High Representative to BiH.
Chief Prosecutor Kajganić, who spoke as a panelist together with the Chief Prosecutor of the IRMCT, Mr. Serge Brammertz, emphasized the challenges and complexity of work on these cases that the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH is facing. Due to the great interest of the public, as well as transparency in its work, in addition to information on the indictments issued, the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH also publishes anonymized negative prosecutorial decisions, so that the public and citizens have a better insight into the prosecution of the aforementioned cases.
Cases related to the criminal offense under Article 145a of the Criminal Code of BiH are handled by Prosecutors from the Mutual Legal Assistance and Other Criminal Offences Section of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, which employs a total of 5 Prosecutors.
