A meeting was held in the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH between Chief Prosecutor Milanko Kajganić and officials of the Special Department for War Crimes, with the Board of Directors of the Missing Persons Institute of BiH.
The central topics of the meeting related to the processes of searching for the missing, exhumations and identifications of the remains that have already been found in areas throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.
It was discussed how to improve the process of searching for the missing by utilising the most up-to-date methods for finding and identifying remains used in the world, as well as how to obtain the highest quality and most reliable information about the sites where the remains are located.
At the proposal of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH in 2024, the Court of BiH issued orders in 74 cases for exhumation processes in different areas of BiH.
In BiH, the search for the remains of more than 7,000 missing persons is still going on.
