INDICTMENT FILED FOR CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY IN FOČA AREA*

The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina filed an indictment against:

- Boro Ivanović, born in 1946 in Foča, citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The defendant is accused of having, as a member of the VRS, acted contrary to the provisions of the Geneva Conventions on the Protection of Civilians during War and Armed Conflict, within a wide and systematic attack by the VRS on the civilian Bosniak population of the Foča municipality.

He is charged that in 1992, knowing about that attack and that his actions were part of that attack, with the use of force and threats to the safety and life of the female victim, as well as her family members, he repeatedly committed the rape of the victim, a woman of Bosniak ethnicity from the Foča area, whereby he committed the criminal offence of Crimes against humanity in violation of Article 172 (1) (g) of the Criminal Code of BiH, in conjunction with Article 180 (1) of the Criminal Code of BiH.
