INDICTMENT FILED FOR WAR CRIMES AGAINST PRISONERS OF WAR

The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina filed an indictment against:

- Šerif Patković, born in 1967 in Zenica, citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The charges against the defendant are that during the war and armed conflict in Bosnia and Herzegovina, he as commander of the 2^nd Battalion of the 7^th Muslim Brigade of the Army of BiH acted contrary to the provisions of the Geneva Conventions on the Protection of Prisoners of War.

He is accused of personally and directly shooting a wounded HVO commander to death in the town of Dusina in 1993, who was wounded and incapacitated for combat after the end of the fighting.

The defendant is charged with having violated the rules of international humanitarian law and depriving the life of a prisoner of war, thus committing the criminal offence of War crime against prisoners of war under Article 144 of the Criminal Code of the SFRY.
