A legal officer from the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina is present at unmarked burial sites at the location of the Repce City Cemetery in the Municipality of Pale, where, by order of the prosecutor in charge of the case, he is coordinating the work of authorized persons participating in the process of exhumation of the remains.
ncomplete mortal remains of at least two persons have been found at the said locality. According to the collected information, there is a possibility that the remains of one of the found persons belong to a victim of Serbian ethnicity, who disappeared in the area of Sarajevo in 1994. The identities of the missing persons will be determined by DNA analysis of the found remains.
The exhumation process is attended by a forensic pathologist, representatives of the Missing Persons’ Institute (MPI) of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the International Commission for Missing Persons (ICMP) in Bosnia and Herzegovina and necessary workers, whereas members of the Pale Police Station of the Republika Srpska Ministry of the Interior are securing the location and providing forensic technical support.
