At the conference of chief prosecutors in BiH, which is taking place in Teslić in the organisation of the HJPC of BiH, the Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, Milanko Kajganić, participated as a speaker in a panel related to the analysis of the most significant results of the work of the prosecutor’s offices in BiH, with a special focus on the fight against corruption and organised crime.
Chief Prosecutor Kajganić presented the results of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH in this area, both in operations carried out by order of the Prosecutor’s Office and regarding the indictments filed in the area of organised crime and corruption in the past period.
In his presentation, the Chief Prosecutor also mentioned the difficulties identified in the work of the Prosecutor’s Office and law enforcement institutions and agencies, which should be eliminated in order to fight this type of crime more effectively.
In the coming period, prosecutorial decisions are expected in important cases of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH relating to the fight against corruption and organised crime, which will also include high officials of institutions in BiH. Compared to the countries of the region, the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH has so far the largest number of indictments filed and operations conducted in cases with evidence obtained from SKY and Anom applications, because indictments against more than 70 persons accused in these cases have been confirmed and significant prosecutorial decisions in this segment are also expected during 2024.
