INDICTMENT FILED FOR ILLICIT TRADE IN EXCISE PRODUCTS - TOBACCO OF HIGHER VALUE

A Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH filed an indictment against Đorđe Gajić, born in 2002 in Brčko, citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

It is alleged against the defendant that on 9 February last year, in his family house in the Municipality of Bosanski Šamac, he illegally produced cut tobacco and possessed a machine and equipment for cut tobacco, with the intention of placing the tobacco on the illegal market, in which he was discovered and prevented by authorised officers of the Republika Srpska Ministry of Internal Affairs, who found and seized a total of 290.90 kg of cut tobacco.

The defendant is charged with having tried to put on sale the products that were not labelled with control and tax stamps in the manner prescribed by the tax legislation of BiH, thereby committing the criminal offence of Illicit trade in excise products set out in Article 210a of the Criminal Code of BiH, in conjunction with Article 26 of the same Code.

The indictment was forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
