EUROPOL ANNOUNCED THE RESULTS OF THE OPERATION INVOLVING THE BIH PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE

The international agency EUROPOL has published the details of the operation in the fight against the organised group that smuggled migrants through the territories of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia, in which the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and partner police and security institutions and agencies took part.

This is the operation that was carried out in BiH under the codename ‘ZIP’ and it concerned several suspected BiH citizens, mainly from the area of Tuzla Canton, who are charged with having participated in a chain of migrant smugglers who used to bring illegal migrants from the Republic of Türkyie to Bosnia and Herzegovina and smuggle them further towards Republic of Croatia and EU countries.

The prosecutor in charge from the Section for countering human trafficking and illegal migrations coordinated the activities in the field in BiH, in communication with colleagues from Croatia and the EU.
