The Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, Milanko Kajganić, chaired the meeting of the Task Force, whose work was attended by representatives of all police and security structures in BiH, prosecutors of the Section for the Fight against Smuggling of Persons and Trafficking in Persons, as well as representatives of the Office for Combating Human Trafficking and Organised Illegal Migration (OLTIM) from the Republic of France, Director Xavier DELRIEU and Deputy Director Pierryck BOULET.
The Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH informed the delegation about the activities carried out by the Task Force for the Fight against Trafficking in Persons and Organised Illegal Migration, as well as the results of the work of this Task Force.
The representatives of OLTIM from France, who came from the country that has a large migrant presence and carries out many activities in the control of illegal migration, presented the activities and work methodology of the Office for Combating Trafficking in Persons and Organised Illegal Migration, ways and possible modalities of improving activities in this area, the possibility of cooperation through strengthening ties and establishing joint investigative teams to work on cases in the fight against organised criminal groups for migrant smuggling, as well as establishing a contact point with OLTIM.
In the BiH Prosecutor’s Office, there is a specialized Section for the Fight against Smuggling of Persons and Trafficking in Persons, whose prosecutors have the main task of prosecuting this type of criminal offences. Various practices of the Republic of France will be applied through the process of providing support to law enforcement agencies in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the field of combating illegal migration.
