INDICTMENT FILED FOR SMUGGLING A FOREIGN CITIZEN

A prosecutor of the Special Department for Organised Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH filed an indictment against Saša Dužević, born in 1981 in Mostar, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia.

The defendant is charged with transporting a citizen of the Republic of Serbia, from the territory of Kosovo, across the state border, who did not meet the conditions for legal crossing of the state border, with the intention of acquiring unlawful property gain - monetary compensation.

On January 26 of last year, after accepting him in Mostar, the defendant brought the aforementioned foreign citizen to a shopping centre near the borderline between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia and gave him instructions on how to go to the territory of the Republic of Croatia, after which he left in an unknown direction. In an attempt to cross the borderline, the foreign citizen was caught by police officers of the BiH Border Police.

The defendant is charged with having committed the criminal offence of smuggling of persons set forth in Article 189 (1) of the Criminal Code of BiH.

The indictment was forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for confirmation.
