The suspect was discovered in an attempt to smuggle 26 migrants of Afro-Asian origin.
The duty prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH sent a motion to the Court of BiH to impose the custody measure on the suspect Dzmitry Trembach, born in 1979, citizen of Belarus.
The custody measure was proposed due to the risk of flight of the suspect, who would become inaccessible to the judicial authorities if he left Bosnia and Herzegovina.
During their regular control of a freight motor vehicle with a trailer with Belarusian registration number plates at the International Border Crossing Point Brod, the Border Police of BiH discovered the suspect and the smuggled persons in an attempt to perpetrate the said criminal offence after which the suspect, who is the driver of the said vehicle, was apprehended and handed over to the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH together with a report on the committed criminal offence for further processing. The found illegal migrants were handed over to members of the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs of BiH for further action taking, and the freight motor vehicle and other evidence were temporarily seized.
The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and the Border Police of BiH, together with partner agencies, are constantly undertaking activities to prevent illegal migrations and prosecute criminal offences related to illegal migration in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
