SUSPECT MLADEN SAMARDŽIJA (1990) HANDED OVER TO BIH PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE

Police officers of the Republika Srpska Ministry of the Interior handed over the suspect Mladen Samardžija, born in 1990 in Kranj, to the assigned prosecutor of the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption. The suspect was located, identified and deprived of liberty in the joint operation of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republika Srpska Ministry of the Interior codenamed "Tokio", which was carried out in the area of Jahorina. 

The suspect had been on the run for a long time, and he has the status of a suspect in a case of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which contains evidence from the SKY and Anom applications.

The aforementioned suspect is charged to have been at the top of an organized criminal group, which smuggled large quantities of heavy narcotic drugs, from the territory of South America and the European Union to the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina and neighbouring countries.

As part of the operation codenamed "Tokyo", the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and police agencies are closely cooperating with EUROPOL structures. In the course of this operation, a large amount of money, weapons and vehicles were seized.

Having questioned the suspect, a motion for custody will be put forward in regard to this suspect, in view of the fact that the suspect had been on the run for a long time.
