CLOSE TO BIH NORTHERN BORDER, BIH PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE COORDINATES ACTIVITIES OF BORDER POLICE AND SIPA, AIMED AT DEPRIVATION OF LIBERTY OF LARGER MIGRANT GROUP IN POSSESSION OF FIREARMS

The prosecutor of the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption assigned to this case is coordinating activities with police officers in the field, as part of the operation in which a group of 12 illegal migrants was discovered.

The aforementioned migrants were discovered in the area of Donji Svilaj, in the border area near the Sava River, and they were discovered in an improvised camp, where a certain amounts of weapons and ammunition were discovered.

According to preliminary information, the migrants in question come from the territory of Afghanistan, and they have been placed under the supervision of competent institutions, while the circumstances related to the possession of weapons and the intentions of this migrant group are being determined.

The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and partner institutions and agencies continue to work on this case. In the interest of the investigation, we cannot provide further information on this matter at this time.
