A prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH filed an indictment against Željko Stekić, born in 1969 in the municipality of Šabac, Republic of Serbia, citizen of the Republic of Serbia, who is remanded in custody.
It is alleged against the defendant that on 1 September of this year, for the purpose of acquiring unlawful property gain, he carried out an illicit international transfer of the narcotic drug “cocaine” in the amount of about half a kilogram (500,606 grams) from the Republic of Serbia to the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The said narcotic drug, whose value on the illegal drug market reaches tens of thousands of BAM, was packed in PVC bags and hidden by the defendant in a compartment under the passenger seat of the car he was driving. The found narcotic drug was seized after a search, by members of the Republika Srpska Ministry of Interior.
The defendant is charged with the unauthorised international sale and transfer of substances or preparations declared by legislation to be narcotic drugs, thereby committing the criminal offence of illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs in violation of Article 195 (1) of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The indictment was forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
