By order of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and by order of the Court of BiH, an investigator from the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH is coordinating the process of exhumation and search for missing persons in the area of Višegrad.
The exhumation process is taking place at the site of the village of Prelovo, Višegrad municipality, and the remains of one person were found.
According to preliminary information and findings, these are the remains of a victim of Bosniak ethnicity who went missing in the area of Prelovo in 1992.
The identity of the person will be determined through DNA analysis.
A forensic pathologist, representatives of the Institute for Missing Persons (IMP) of BiH, the International Commission for Missing Persons (ICMP) in BiH, as well as police officers of the Republika Srpska Ministry of Internal Affairs, Police Station Višegrad, who secured the location and performed crime-technical support, took part in the process of exhumation.
