On orders of the prosecutor in charge, an expert associate in the Special Department for War Crimes coordinated the exhumation process in the area of Brčko, at the location of a yard in Srpska Varoš, where the remains of a male person were found.
According to preliminary information, this is a victim of Bosniak ethnicity from the area of Srebrenica, who disappeared in 1995.
The remains will be transferred to the Tuzla Memorial Center, for further forensic-medical processing and identification through DNA analysis.
The exhumation was attended by a forensic pathologist, representatives of the Institute for Missing Persons (INO) of BiH, workers of the Tuzla Commemorative Center, as well as police officers from the Brčko District Police, who secured the site and provided crime-technical support.
