REMAINS OF ONE PERSON FOUND AT EXHUMATION IN BIJELJINA

In the area of Bijeljina, at the site of the Bukreš graveyard, an investigator of the Special Department for War Crimes, acting on orders of the prosecutor in charge, coordinated the process of exhuming the remains.

The remains of one person were found at the mentioned site. According to preliminary, available information, it is a missing victim of Croatian ethnicity from the area of Bijeljina and the identity will be determined through DNA analysis. The remains will be transferred to the Tuzla Commemorative Center for further forensic analysis.

A forensic pathologist, representatives of the Institute for Missing Persons (INO) of BiH and of the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP) to BiH, as well as police officers of the Republika Srpska Ministry of Interior – Bijeljina Police Station, who secured the site and provided crime scene technical support, took part in the exhumation process.
