A Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued an indictment against Dominik Marić AKA “Domo", born in 1993 in Ljubuški.
The accused is charged with transporting tobacco in a total amount of 580 kilograms, which was not marked with excise stamps in accordance with the law, on two occasions during 2021.
While transporting tobacco, the first time in the amount of 260 kg, and the second time in the amount of 320 kg, the accused was discovered and prevented by the officers of the ITA BiH, RC Sarajevo, Group for the Prevention of Smuggling and Misdemeanors.Seized tobacco without excise stamps and proof of origin was transported by the accused with the aim of putting it on sale, and the aforementioned tobacco is considered a tobacco product in the sense of the Law on Excises in BiH and must be marked with excise stamps in the manner prescribed by the tax legislation of BiH before being placed on the market. .
Excise duties for one kilogram of cut tobacco amount to about BAM 100 and the seizure of 580 kilograms of tobacco prevented the evasion of excise duties of about BAM 58,000.
The accused is charged with having tried to put the products, which were not marked with control and tax stamps in the manner prescribed by the tax legislation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, into circulation i.e. sale on two occasions, thereby committing the criminal offense - Illicit Trade in Excise Products under Article 210a. Paragraph 1 of the CC of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The indictment was forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for confirmation.
