BIH PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE ISSUED AN INDICTMENT FOR REVEALING THE IDENTITY OF A PROTECTED WITNESS

 A prosecutor of the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption issued an indictment against Safet Brkić, born in Sarajevo in 1986, citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

 The accused is charged with publishing the written statement of a protected witness in a terrorism case via social media, in which way he disclosed information about the identity without authorization, The identity was declared secret by the decision of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the obligation to keep it secret for a period of 30 years.

The accused is charged with unauthorized disclosure of information about the identity of a person who provided evidence before the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina and whose identity was declared secret by the decision of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, thereby committing the criminal offense of Revealing of Identity of a Protected Witness under Article 240, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The indictment was forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation, and it was confirmed.
