AT THE LOCATION OF ZAVINA IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF FOČA AN EXHUMATION WAS COMPLETED BY ORDER OF THE PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE OF BIH

The remains of at least one person were found, which were sent to the PUC City Cemetery Visoko for further forensic-medical processing and identification through DNA analysis.

 An investigator of the Special Department for War Crimes coordinated the work of authorized officials at the extremely inaccessible location of the village of Zavina in the municipality of Foča. Representatives of the Institute for Missing Persons of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a forensic expert of the International Commission on Missing Persons, and police officers of the Foča Police Department participated in the process of the search for and exhumation of the remains.

The discovery of these remains is the result of the joint work of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the State Investigation and Protection Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Institute for Missing Persons of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Foča PD within the operational team for the search for missing persons in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
