CHIEF PROSECUTOR OF THE PROSECUTOR’S OF BIH MET WITH THE SPECIAL REPRESENTATIVE OF THE EU IN BIH

Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Milanko Kajganić, together with his associates, met with the Head of the EU Delegation to BiH and the EU Special Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ambassador Johann Sattler and his associates.

The central topics of the meeting related to activities in strengthening the rule of law on the European path of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Chief Prosecutor Kajganić informed Ambassador Sattler about the activities carried out by the Prosecutor’s Office in the fight against the most serious forms of crime, including war crimes, organized crime, corruption, terrorism and other crimes under the jurisdiction of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, and appealed to speed up the processes of integration and connecting the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH with partner institutions in the EU, such as Eurojust, because the prosecutor’s office already achieves operational cooperation with partner institutions from European Union countries in dozens of cases.

The meeting parties discussed the processing of cases related to illegalities with the election process.

At the meeting, it was pointed out that the rule of law and the security of citizens are among the most important segments on BiH’ s path towards European integration.

Ambassador Sattler pointed out that the European Union provides support to the BiH Prosecutor’s Office and the strengthening of the rule of law, since the establishment of this institution, capacity building, as well as donating equipment and resources necessary for the effective and successful work of the law enforcement institution.

The cooperation of the EU Office in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina will certainly continue in the future, in order to create a safer environment for the life of all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
