INDICTMENT ISSUED FOR ILLICIT TRADE IN EXCISE PRODUCTS - CIGARETTES AND TOBACCO OF HIGHER VALUE

A Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued an indictment against Nermin Ahmetspahić, born in 1979, with prior convictions, citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

According to the indictment, Ahmetspahić is charged with being engaged in the illegal circulation of excise products in order to obtain unlawful property gain i.e. in the intent of further sale he illegally acquired and kept cigarettes and tobacco of higher value in the family house, the excise products for which he did not own any documentation and which were not marked with excise stamps.

During the search conducted, a total of 1,420 packs of cigarettes of various brands and manufacturers and 90 kg of finely cut tobacco were found.

The accused is charged with the attempt to put into circulation products that were not marked with control and tax stamps in the manner prescribed by the tax legislation of BiH, thereby committing the criminal offense of Illicit Trade in Excise Products under Article 210a paragraph 1 in conjunction with Article 26 of the CC BiH.

The indictment was forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for confirmation.
