Acting Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Milanko Kajganić together with his associates, met with the delegation of the European Union Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation – EUROJUST, headed by President Ladislav Hamran.
The topics of the meeting, among other things, related to activities within the framework of the IPA 3 project that Eurojust will implement in the Western Balkans, with the aim of improving cross-border cooperation in the region in cases of serious forms of cross-border and organized crime, by bringing together prosecutor’s offices and other relevant law enforcement institutions and agencies., from six partner countries from the Western Balkans, including Bosnia and Herzegovina, and providing support in the coordination of parallel investigations and prosecutions, as well as the establishment of joint investigative teams. Acting Chief Prosecutor Kajganić, expressed his gratitude to President Hamran and Eurojust officials for the visit, as well as for the assistance that this institution provides in the work of the prosecutor’s office in the fight against organized, international and all other forms of serious crime, and pointed out that he personally advocated to accelerate the cooperation with this institution, as well as other partner institutions of the European Union, as well as to establish all the necessary mechanisms in Bosnia and Herzegovina, so that the cooperation would be as fast and effective as possible.
Eurojust officials expressed their support for the BiH Prosecutor’s Office and partner agencies of Bosnia and Herzegovina in strengthening the rule of law and participating in international operations in the fight against organized and cross-border crime. The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH is currently working on dozens of cases, in which international cooperation with the prosecutor’s offices and partner institutions of the countries of the region, the European Union and the whole world is realized in various ways.
