THE PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE OF BIH COORDINATES THE EXHUMATION PROCESS IN THE AREA AROUND VIŠEGRAD

An investigator of the Special Department for War Crimes is in the field, at the Gornja Crnča site in Višegrad, where he is coordinating the work of authorised persons taking part in the exhumation on the orders of the prosecutor in charge.

THE PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE OF BIH COORDINATES THE EXHUMATION PROCESS IN THE AREA AROUND VIŠEGRAD

The remains of several people were found at the site and according to the collected information, the remains of 4 victims of Bosniak nationality from the Višegrad area of, who disappeared in 1992, might be found at this site.

The site was found through the joint work of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and SIPA based on the information collected in the process of searching for missing persons.

A forensic pathologist, SIPA officers, representatives of the Institute for Missing Persons (INO) of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the required workers and machinery are taking part in the exhumation process and the police securing of the location and support is provided by police officers of the Police Station Višegrad.

The remains will be transported to the Goražde ossuary for the purpose of taking samples and determining identity through DNA analysis.
