INDICTMENT FILED FOR SMUGGLING EXCISE GOODS - CIGARETTES OF HIGHER VALUE

A prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina filed an indictment against RANKO TOMAŠEVIĆ, born in 1977 in Trebinje, citizen of BiH.

It is alleged against the indictee that on 16 July 2021 he bypassed the official international border crossing point “Klobuk” between the Republic of Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina and entered the territory of BiH in an off-road motor vehicle driving along a forest road, that he transported across the customs line a total of 13,470 packs of cigarettes of various brands and manufacturers, which were not marked with excise stamps and the value of which totals BAM 77,081.00, thus avoiding the measures of customs control and customs clearance, and that he committed the criminal offence of smuggling referred to in Article 214 (1) of the Criminal Code of BiH.

The above-mentioned cigarettes were temporarily seized by the officers of the BiH Border Police during the control of the vehicle at the mentioned location.

The indictment has been forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
