PURSUANT TO THE ORDER OF THE PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE OF BIH OPERATION CODENAMED “EAST-DREAM” REALIZED
02.06.2022. 10:31Acting pursuant to the order of the Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency of BiH, in cooperation with police officers of the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina, carried out an operation "East-Dream", aimed at dismantling an organized group for smuggling of migrants which has In the previous period smuggled a large number of migrants from Pakistan and Bangladesh, from the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the countries of the European Union.
Two persons were deprived of liberty due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that they committed the criminal offense of Organizing a Group or Association for the commission of the criminal offense of ‘smuggling of migrants’ under Article 189a and the criminal offense of Smuggling of Persons under Article 189 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
During the course of the operation, searches were conducted at several locations in the area of Sarajevo and Gradiška, and the found items used in the perpetration of the criminal offense were temporarily seized.Once all investigative activities have been carried out, the Assigned Prosecutor will decide on further activities in the case.
