Acting on an Order of a Prosecutor from the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption, SIPA police officers have arrested the suspect Dragan Šojić (1961), the current Director of the Service for Joint Affairs of BiH Institutions, at his workplace in the building of the Joint Institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The aforementioned suspect is under investigation for corruption criminal offences of Abuse of Office or Official Authority and Embezzlement in Office, as well as the criminal offense of Infringement of Equality of Individuals and Citizens.
In the course of investigation, the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and SIPA gathered evidence that the said official committed gross abuses of office, in relation to his arrival and stay at work, as well as misuse of funds of the said institution, since he was using the funds for private purposes.
Furthermore, the suspect is charged with inappropriate and illegal treatment of employees of the said Service and violation of the human rights they have as equal citizens and members of the constituent peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
During the day, the suspect will be handed over to the assigned Prosecutor, who will question the suspect and make a decision on further activities in the case.
