OPERATION TARGETING SEVERAL PERSONS SUSPECTED OF INTERNATIONAL DRUG SMUGGLING CARRIED OUT ON ORDERS OF THE PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE OF BIH

Acting on the orders of a prosecutor from the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption, SIPA police officers carried out an operation of deprivation of freedom and search of several persons suspected of smuggling large quantities of narcotic drugs “speed” totaling about 15 kilograms, which on the illegal narcotic drug market in Bosnia and Herzegovina and abroad reaches the value of tens of thousands of BAM.

The suspects are charged that early this year they organized a group for committing criminal acts of illicit drug trafficking earlier this year, with clearly divided roles and tasks, in order to smuggle large quantities of narcotic drugs and acquire illegal property gain.

The activities were carried out with the support of the RS Ministry of Interior and the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Interior.

Considering that there is an active police officer (from the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of BiH) among the suspects, the activities also have elements of corruption activities and abuse of police powers and information.

The suspects will be handed over to the prosecutor in charge within the legal deadline, who will make a decision on further activities.
