CUSTODY MOTION FOR AN AFGHAN CITIZEN SUSPECTED OF MIGRANT SMUGGLING

As part of the activities of the Border Police of BiH in coordination with the duty prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, an Afghan citizen was discovered and deprived of his freedom in Kozluk, Zvornik area, in an attempt to smuggle 26 illegal migrants of Afro-Asian descent, who had crossed the border between the Republic of Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina on the Drina River in a rubber boat.

The suspect Ali Mansoor (1999), a citizen of Afghanistan, was brought to the prosecutor in charge of the case who, after questioning him, submitted a motion that a custody measure provided for in Article 132 (1) (a) of the Criminal Procedure Code of BiH be ordered against the suspect because of the risk of flight of the suspect.

According to the collected evidence and their respective statements, the discovered illegal migrants, came from India, Pakistan, Ghana, Zambia and Tunisia and were handed over to the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
