PERSON ACCUSED OF WAR CRIME COMMITTED IN NEVESINJE AREA ENTERS INTO PLEA AGREEMENT ADMITTING HIS GUILT

Damir Miskin (1968), the person accused of committing the criminal offense of war crime of rape and sexual abuse of a Bosniak victim in the Nevesinje area, has admitted his guilt for the said war crime committed in June 1992 and he has signed a Plea Agreement in the presence of his attorney.  

PERSON ACCUSED OF WAR CRIME COMMITTED IN NEVESINJE AREA ENTERS INTO PLEA AGREEMENT ADMITTING HIS GUILT

  By this Plea Agreement, the accused has fully admitted his participation in the committed crime, and he has waived his right to a trial and the right to appeal the judgment handed down to him by the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the basis of the Plea Agreement, whereby he brought about the speeding up of the process.

Prior to concluding the aforementioned Plea Agreement, the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina discussed the matter with the relatives of the injured party, who is no longer alive, and they pointed out that they wanted the accused to be held accountable for the crimes committed and they gave their consent to concluding this Plea Agreement.

 

After deliberation, the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina accepted the Plea Agreement and sentenced the accused to four (4) years in prison.
