Acting Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, Milanko Kajganić, met with Mathew Cheser, a historian from the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA)
Mr. Cheser specializes in cases in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and in 2019 the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina approved the implementation of a project to locate and identify members of the US Army who participated in World War II, especially airmen who were shot down over the territory BiH, and whose remains are still being searched for.
The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH is also ready to support the activities of this project, within its competencies, because in the process of search for missing persons, the competent institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina encounter mortal remains and materials for which forensic analysis indicated that they originate from an earlier period.
