BIH PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE AND FBIH POLICE DEPARTMENT CARRY OUT OPERATION TO FIGHT INTERNATIONAL DRUG SMUGGLING

Having carried out coordinated activities under the supervision of the duty prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, police officers of the FBiH Police Department intercepted a suspect’s vehicle and searched it, and in its fuel tank they found about 15.5 kilograms of synthetic narcotic drugs, the value of which reaches hundreds of thousands of BAM in the illegal drug market.

According to the collected evidence, the drug was smuggled from the territory of EU countries, and, having entered the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the vehicle with the smuggled drugs was detected in the area of Zenica-Doboj Canton, and narcotic drugs were found inside it.

After the search, the suspect was deprived of liberty and charged with the criminal offence of Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs, referred to in Article 195 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Having questioning the suspect, the Prosecutor assigned to the case put forward a motion with the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, seeking 30-day custody measure.

The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, together with its partner institutions and agencies, continues the investigation in this case of international drug smuggling.
