The duty prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH was informed about the activities of the BiH Border Police, which found and arrested two Afghan nationals suspected of smuggling a group of 17 migrants of Afro-Asian origin across the state border (Drina River) from the Republic of Serbia to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
After depriving the suspects of their freedom, the boat that served as a vessel for smuggling the migrants across the water border on the Drina River was seized.
The suspects were brought before the prosecutor working on the case, who, after interviewing them, will send a motion for ordering the custody measure under Article 132 (1) (a) of the Criminal Procedure Code of BiH, because of the risk that the suspects might flee.
The illegal migrants have been handed over to the BiH Service for Foreigners’ Affairs.
