OPERATION COUNTERING ORGANIZED CRIME AND ILLICIT TRAFFICKING IN NARCOTIC DRUGS CARRIED OUT ON ORDER OF BIH PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE

The activities have been carried out as part of the case in which the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has achieved significant cooperation with partner institutions of the Republic of Slovenia, all with the aim of prosecuting persons suspected of smuggling more than 80 kilograms of marijuana – skunk narcotic drug, which had previously been seized on the territory of Slovenia. According to the evidence collected, the drug was smuggled from Bosnia and Herzegovina to EU countries.

Along with SIPA police officers, on the order of a Prosecutor from the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, police officers of the Republika Srpska Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of the Interior of the Central Bosnia Canton are also active in the field, and searches and deprivations of liberty are being carried out in the municipalities of Kiseljak and Foča.

Persons thus deprived of their liberty will be handed over to the Prosecutor in charge of the case within the legally prescribed time limit, and the Prosecutor will interrogate the suspects and subsequently make a decision regarding the further activities in this case.
