EXHUMATION UNDERWAY AT DUBOKI POTOK SITE, KNEŽEVO MUNICIPALITY, ORDERED BY BIH PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE

The exhumation process is taking place in an extremely inaccessible mountainous terrain, and the search for the mortal remains of the victims from the past war, from the area of Kotor Varoš, is underway.

A Legal Officer of the Special Department for War Crimes is currently at the site, where, on an order issued by a Prosecutor, he coordinates the work of authorized officers participating in the exhumation process.

The mortal remains of one person have already been found at the site, and the search continues.

The said activities have been carried out in cooperation of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and SIPA, whose members are present at the site.

Due to the complexity of the terrain, the assistance of Alpine Police Teams during the exhumation has also been requested.

The found mortal remains will be sent for further forensic processing and identification of the victims via the DNA analysis.
