INDICTMENT ISSUED FOR THE CRIMINAL OFFENCE OF ILLICIT TRADE IN EXCISE PRODUCTS

A prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH has filed an indictment against:

- HAMDO DAUTOVIĆ, born in 1959 in Travnik, citizen of BiH, and

- SINAN DAUTOVIĆ, born in 1977 in Travnik, citizen of BiH.

According to the indictment, the accused are charged with placing into circulation large quantities of tobacco products in the form of cut tobacco, hand-made cigarettes, as well as cigarettes of various brands in the municipality of Travnik, which were not labelled with valid excise stamps of BiH, in order to acquire illegal property gain and avoid paying excise duties.

These tobacco and cigarettes, contrary to legal regulations, were bought from people they knew, and then sold to customers at a higher price. During the search of their apartments and other premises, a large quantity of tobacco, cigarettes, as well as packages of cigarettes of various brands, scales, cigarette filling machines with filters and other items intended for the commission of the criminal offence were found and seized.

The accused are charged with having committed the continued criminal offence of Illicit Trade in Excise Products under Article 210a (1) in conjunction with Article 54 of the Criminal Code of BiH.

The indictment has been forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
