An investigator of the Special Department for War Crimes is on the site, where, pursuant to a Prosecutor’s order, he coordinates the work of authorized persons participating in the exhumation process.
The process of exhumation and search for mortal remains will last for the next three days.
The remains of victims of Croatian nationality, from the area of Bugojno, who disappeared in 1993, are being searched for at this site.
At an earlier date, the remains of the victims had been found at the Rostovo site, and it is expected that the remains of the missing persons, for whom their families have been searching for 28 years, could be found at this location.
The site is attended by a forensic pathologist and representatives of the Missing Persons’ Institute (MPI) of Bosnia and Herzegovina and International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP) in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as necessary workers and mechanization, whereas the police officers of the Bugojno Police Station are securing the site and performing crime investigation work.
Representatives of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, together with partner institutions and agencies involved in the process of searching for missing persons, participate in exhumation processes in all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
