In several media reports, in the past few days, disinformation was published that some police agencies had refused to carry out the orders and requests of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the case of Osman Mehmedagić and others.
In order to provide accurate and objective information, we would like to inform the media and the public that none of the police agencies has refused to act upon the request of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, nor does the law envisage any possibilities for such a refusal.
In the course of the investigation, so far, the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has been very successful in cooperating with the State Investigation and Protection Agency - SIPA, the Tax Administration of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of the Interior. We did not engage other police agencies in this case.
The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina successfully cooperates with all police and security agencies, which has resulted in a series of joint actions aimed at shedding light on the criminal offences of war crimes, organized crime, economic crime and corruption, especially systemic corruption, as well as the cases of terrorism, smuggling of persons, human trafficking and other cases within the jurisdiction of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
