It is a search for the remains of victims missing from the past war.
An investigator of the Special Department for War Crimes is at the Kazani site near Srebrenica, where he coordinates the work of authorized officers who participate in the process of exhumation and search for the remains of victims from the past war.
The site is attended by a forensic doctor, representatives of the Missing Persons’ Institute (MPI) of Bosnia and Herzegovina and necessary workers and mechanization, as well as police officers from the Srebrenica Police Station who are carrying out crime investigation activities and securing the said location.
According to the preliminary information, the remains of a Bosniak victim, who died in 1993, should be found at the site.
Representatives of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina participate in the exhumation processes and in the search for missing persons in all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
