Upon an order of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the exhumation process was completed at the Drozgometva site in the Hadžići municipality, during which incomplete mortal remains of one person were found.
The exhumation was carried out after the mortal remains had been found in the settlement while digging the local road, upon which the location was secured until the commencement of the exhumation.
The found mortal remains will be transferred to the Miljevići City Cemetery in East Sarajevo, where forensic processing will be performed to determine the cause of death and bone samples will be taken in order to determine the identity of the victim by DNA analysis.
Field activities were supervised and coordinated by an investigator from the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the exhumation of the mortal remains was attended by the representatives of the Missing Persons’ Institute of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Republika Srpska Institute of Forensic Medicine, International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP), a forensic expert, as well as police officers of the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of the Interior.
The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, together with the institutions involved in the process of searching for missing persons in Bosnia and Herzegovina, continues its activities in the process of exhumations and searching for missing persons in all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
