Improvement of inter-institutional cooperation with the aim of more efficient and effective prosecution of corruption, organised crime and war crimes cases in the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH - was the topic of a meeting between representatives of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina held in Neum on 2 June 2021.
The meeting, which discussed the findings of the Third Annual Report on the Judicial Response to Corruption “Impunity Syndrome”, the Report of Experts on Rule of Law in BiH and the Second Report of Judge Joanne Korner “Improving the Prosecution of War Crimes in Bosnia and Herzegovina”, was attended by the Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and heads of departments of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, President and members of the HJPC BiH, Director of the Secretariat of the HJPC BiH and representatives of relevant departments of the Secretariat, and officials of the EU Delegation to BiH.
The proposed action plan for the implementation of the proposed measures recommended in the Third Annual Report of the OSCE Mission on the Judicial Response to Corruption was also discussed.
This is one of several planned meetings that the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina will hold with representatives of judicial institutions in order to discuss at a strategic level the challenges the BiH judiciary faces.
