DUTY PROSECUTOR OF THE PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE OF BIH ORDERS ACTIVITIES WITHIN THE PROSECUTION OF THE CRIMINAL OFFENCE OF MIGRANT SMUGGLING

As part of the activities of the BiH Border Police and in coordination with the duty prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, two BiH citizens were discovered in an attempt to smuggle 12 migrants of Afro-Asian origin in the border area in the area of Srbac.

The duty prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH instructed the police officers to search and collect evidence in documenting this criminal offence, and a report on the criminal offence of smuggling of persons will be submitted against the suspected BiH citizens.

According to the collected evidence, as well as their statements, the discovered illegal migrants came from the area of Bangladesh and Pakistan and will be handed over to the further jurisdiction of the Service for Foreigners Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, together with partner institutions and agencies, implements activities related to the prosecution of criminal offences of smuggling of migrants in cities and areas throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina almost on a daily basis.
